If you have sensitive skin like mine, my guess is that you’ve probably relied on baby products over the years. “Baby” products in general are gentler on the skin, stripped of unnecessary harsh ingredients that can cause allergic reactions. Besides, who doesn’t want to have the feeling of baby-soft skin, whatever your age?

Aside from Johnson’s classic pink-hued baby lotion, baby powder (which can double as dry shampoo), and shampoo (I use it as a clarifying shampoo and to clean makeup brushes), a favorite of mine over the years is from the line Mustela. I first came across this brand at a little shop in the US in the ‘90s, and I’ve been using the brand’s Hydra Stick (a lip balm that can also be used on dry cheeks) and Body Lotion (it has a wonderful sweet almond scent) ever since.

Luckily, Mustela has been available in Manila for more than a year online and in select malls. I recently got to meet the brand’s distributors (who are also mommies, by the way), and learned a few more beauty tips. For instance, if you’re pressed for time, their no-rinse PhysiObebe No-Rinse Cleansing Fluid also works as a makeup remover, much like Bioderma Crealine H20. And for the itchies, I discovered that Stelatria Recovery Cream really works (it’s a non-steroidal formula which is safe for all ages). Another product popular with the mommies is the Skin Freshener, which most moms use as a face and body mist after working out.

Mustela’s line is a bit pricer compared to its drugstore counterparts, but hey, if you and your baby can share it, why not? Mommies need some pampering too!

Mustela is at Shangri-La Mall, Trinoma, Glorietta 4, and Rustan’s Department Stores; select products available online at www.seektheuniq.com
