Call me old-fashioned, but there are still some things I prefer to do by hand (despite my terrible handwriting) – jottting down appointments, thank you notes, to-do lists and so forth. I usually get my stash from the usual brands (Crane & Co.), places from random trips like museum shops and from friends who recently got into the paper business (Whisk Designs and Isabel Gatuslao).

I’ve been a fan of Garance Doré’s illustrations (they remind me of the work of René Gruau) and her blog (, so when I saw a few pieces from her collaboration with Rifle Paper Co. at National Bookstore, I immediately grabbed some for myself. Her line (from P420 to P1500) comprises of notecard sets, notebooks and phone cases. My personal pick, however, is the social stationary set, which comes in a box of 12 assorted designs for P925. And another plus? You’ll be inspired, style-wise, from her stylish sketches as well.

Garance Doré products are available at select National Bookstore branches or online at
